Coach Walsh urges West Indies women to stay hungry

WEST Indies women’s head coach Courtney Walsh explained his workforce should stay away from complacency heading into the second match of the Global Cricket Council Planet Cup qualifiers versus Sri Lanka women of all ages, on Saturday, from 3.30 am (TT time).

West Indies gals gained their opening match against Ireland women of all ages by 6 wickets in Harare, Zimbabwe, on Tuesday.

Speaking to Cricket West Indies media next the earn around Eire, Walsh explained, “Sri Lanka is constantly a rough opponent, we just cannot just take anything at all for granted. We just will need to concentrate on our engage in, hold improving upon in the departments that we are carrying out well in (and) hold concentrating on what we need to do from the opposition. Walsh explained captain Stafanie Taylor’s innings (41 not out) was helpful and spinners Anisa Mohammed and Hayley Matthews (2/20 in ten overs) were amid the bowlers who performed pivotal roles.

Off spinner Mohammed, who ended with 3/40 in 10 overs, broke Zimbabwe’s opening partnership.

Walsh stated the opening victory will ensure the group spirit is large heading into the second match.
